PE will take place every other Thursday this year for grades 1-5. Please be sure your child applies sunscreen daily and mosquito repellent. We encourage students to drink plenty of water, so a refillable water bottle would be beneficial.

2017 Silver Level Recipient

Birney is proud to be a 2017 Silver Level recipient of the Green Ribbon Award. Birney has been recognized for making an impact in the following three areas (as stated by the California Department of Education):

  1. Reduce environmental impact and costs;
  2. Improve the health and wellness of schools, students, and staff; and
  3. Provide environmental education, which teaches many disciplines, and is especially good at effectively incorporating STEM, civic skills, and green career pathways.
