All about Mrs. Hale

Dear Birney Bobcats,
I hope everyone had a great summer! Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Hopefully it will be full of new and exciting experiences. For those who do not know me, my name is Aly Hale. I am excited to be returning to Birney Elementary for my second year as your School Counselor! I have a Masters of Science in Educational Counseling and specialize in social, emotional and behavioral development. I live in Los Alamitos with my husband, two daughters and dog named Deuce. I believe every student, when given the proper guidance, can find a path to their own personal success.
I wanted to share some information with you regarding the counseling program at Birney Elementary. Similar to last year, one of the wonderful opportunities your child will have this school year will be to receive regular guidance lessons in his/her classroom. I look forward to visiting classes, meeting with students and focusing on social emotional learning.
As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all students. I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families and community. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom lessons, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Bobcat students and families.
Any student can request to meet with me or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent. I encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your child. If you would like for me to meet with your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am here to help students achieve their personal, social and academic goals, as well as provide support for the parents and teachers. Please feel free to contact me at any time during the school year if you would like to discuss your child’s needs, have concerns, need information, or need further resources. I am on campus Thursday, Friday and every other Wednesday.
I can be reached by email at or by calling 310-798-8626 ext. 1358.
I look forward to a fantastic school year!

Mrs. Hale,
